“And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness” (Genesis 1:4)
 
 
And God saw the light, that it was good. Now, let us imagine the earth without any form of light; no sun, no moon, no electricity. How do you think it will look like? I guess it will be total darkness, confusion and chaos beyond imaginable; such is the life of anyone who doesn’t have Christ. No wonder some celebrity with all the money doesn’t have peace; no wonder many of them commit suicide; no wonder they go into marriage and rush out of it quickly. When there is no light, people will grope on darkness; if they want to chose white they may end up choosing black or red; if they plans to wear blue they may end up wearing orange. All these explain why someone without Christ cannot see what we see. Take for example, if we say fornication is bad, they won’t be able to see it so, rather they will say it is a way of life. When we talk of adultery they will call it extra marital affairs.
 
Glory be to God for those of us in Christ because we have the light of life. Beloved, as long as you are in Christ, you are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14); therefore let us always walk in the light for our God delights in us. He will not be happy seeing His children indulging in any work of darkness. Adultery, fornications, lying, backbiting, anger, pride, envy, etc are works of darkness. So let every children of God not partake in it.
 
Another significant thing that God did with the light from the beginning is that God cause a separation between the light and the darkness (Genesis 1:4). He went further to give the light power over the darkness:
 
“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not” (John 1:5 KJV)
 
God foreknew that darkness will try to overcome the light therefore, He settle the issue from the beginning so that whenever light appears darkness will disappears. This shall be your portion as you are reading this Christian devotion in the name of Jesus Christ. Because you are the light of this world, every representative of darkness in your life shall disappear and give way to the light of God as from today in the name of Jesus Christ.
 
Beloved, please take note of this: this world is full of darkness; though you can see physical light everywhere but it is not so in the spiritual. That is why there is killing and troubles everywhere: war, famine, drug abuse etc

Father Lord, please use me to as your light in this world. Let me show forth your glory and never allow the work of darkness to manifest in my life.
