Christian Devotions Memory Verse
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen. (2Peter 3:18 KJV)
In the kingdom of God, knowledge plays a significant role in the life of all the children of God. What you know about God has a direct relationship with what you get from him. What differentiates outstanding Christians from ordinary believers has a lot do with what they know about God and how they utilise the acquired knowledge. Surely, God delights in those who know him for who he is (Jeremiah 9:24).
Unfortunately many of us (Christians) don’t really have in-depth understanding of him and the lack of knowledge of God is the greatest reasons why we cannot manifest his power. From 2Peter 3:18, we see that we are expected to grow both in grace and in the knowledge of God. Knowledge is power because it gives strength to its recipient (Proverbs 24:5). Show me a powerless Christian and I will show you a man without good knowledge of God.
From the bible we see that God is a healer. It takes real faith and knowledge of God to believe that God can heal you when you are actually ill. The first point of call of someone that knows God whenever he’s sick is the throne of heaven; he will call God in prayer using appropriate scriptures. A Christian who does not really know God on the other hand will first think of medication but when it becomes apparent that doctors cannot handle his case will begin to seek God. If that describes you, then you need to study the bible to know God more.
Apart from that, there are many Christians who never receive personal revelation from God – whether in dreams, visions, audible voice etc. The reason for this is because they don’t know God as a living and speaking God who communicates with his people every day. If you ask such people, they will tell you that the only way that God speaks is through his words that have been written in the bible. Yes God speaks to us through his written words but what about the Holy Spirit? They have forgotten his (Holy Spirit) role as our teacher (John 16:13-14) and shepherd. May the Lord open the ears and the eyes of all his Children to hear and to see into the spiritual in the name of Jesus (amen).
No one can manifest the power of God in any particular situation without knowing him as God of that situation: You may not get deliverance if you don’t believe that He is a deliverer (2Samuel 2:22); God may not bless you unless you recognise him as a Jehovah-Jireh; He (God) may not fight for you except you know him as a man of war (Exodus 15:3). What you know is what you get.
Beloved the Lord God is alive and He’s working signs and wonders. Seek to know him more and your life will never remain the same.
If you will like to give your life to Jesus Christ so that you can access all the promises of God, please say this short prayer of salvation. Thanks and God bless.

Lord of heaven and the earth, my life and all my affairs are in your hand, please let me know you more. Open my heart of understanding and give me the grace to obey you in all things in Jesus name.
